Job Description

Advocate Health is seeking a Program Director at Advocate Christ Medical Center to oversee and lead our Family Medicine residency program. The Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of the residency program to ensure the highest quality of education and training for our residents.
 
Training/Experience/Skills required:
  • Board certification in Family Medicine
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in graduate medical education with a proven track record of leadership and program development. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, and skills in organization, planning, and the development of program specific strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and diplomacy. 
  • Demonstrated success in developing positive relationships and working cohesively with a variety of medical staff, physician groups, leadership, and community leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all team members, which is necessary to collaborate with management/executives/other organizations.  
 Key Responsibilities: 
  • Submit accurate and complete information required and requested by the Designated Institutional Official, Graduate Medical Education Committee, and the applicable accreditation body.
  • Participate in scheduled Graduate Medical Education (GME) committees/subcommittee meetings/retreats and serve on GME related workgroups. 
  • Develop and oversee a process to evaluate faculty candidates prior to approval as program faculty members and at least annually, thereafter. 
  • Implement faculty development and processes for their evaluation.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate residency requirement strategies.
  • Assure compliance with all requirements for trainee applicant eligibility, selection, and appointments. 
  • Assure compliance with all program requirements for resident, faculty, and program evaluation. 
  • Provide semi-annual evaluations for each resident and final evaluations upon completion of the program.
  • Design and implement unbiased assessment & evaluation processes consistent with accreditation guidelines and learning sciences. 
  • Assure each resident achieves progressive autonomy consistent with their competency level. 
  • Assure compliance with all program requirements for the educational program including curriculum components, competencies, curriculum organization, and scholarly activity.
  • Design and conduct the program to meet the needs of the community, the SI, and Program mission(s), incorporating faculty/learner insights and education science.
