Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Position
Opening for July 2024 - June 2025
The Advanced Cardiac, Transplant & VAD (ACTV) Program at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is currently recruiting eligible candidates for our ACGME accredited Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Program starting in July 2024. This will be a 1 year fellowship and graduating fellows will be eligible for ABIM – Advanced Heart Failure board certification.
The fellowship program is very progressive with a structured curriculum and emphasis on personalized patient care skills, developing leadership skills, and research. The fellowship program is designed to provide widespread clinical and academic education that covers a collegial working relationship with a dedicated team of 10 Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologists and Thoracic Surgeons. There is emphasis on the management of patients with advanced heart failure and pre and post-operative management of heart transplant patients and LVAD patients as well as experience with the management of PAH. Our program also includes hands-on management of ventricular assist devices and long-term management of transplant patients. The salary for this fellowship position is very competitive with an excellent benefit package.

We have also implanted over 1,200 mechanical circulatory support devices since our first implant in 1986. This is a high volume center with over 45 transplants and over 50 VAD’s per year. Achieving these milestones firmly places our program among the top 10% nationwide and the largest in the state of Wisconsin.
Program Eligibility: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and Board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease at start of advanced fellowship training.
