Job Title: Endovascular Neurologist
 
Duties: The Endovascular Neurologist at Aurora Medical Group, Inc. In Milwaukee, WI will utilize catheters and radiology to diagnose and treat various neurological conditions and diseases of the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. Utilizes tools that pass through the blood vessels and other similar techniques to diagnose and treat diseases and conditions rather than using open surgery. Performs procedures including Thrombolytic therapy, Endovascular coiling, minimally invasive spine surgery, Cerebral angiography and Carotid artery angioplasty/stenting. In close coordination with other appropriate medical specialists, performs surgical techniques and provides outpatient and inpatient rounding and management, and patient recovery and management.  Verifies the necessity of medical treatment and intervention; estimates surgical risks to patients; and overall determines the best course(s) of care to effectively manage the treatment; determines, prescribes and administers preoperative and postoperative care; orders and studies medical diagnostic tests to aid in diagnosis and care management as necessary; and recommends, facilitates and coordinates appropriate post-operative care with other providers as indicated by patient condition.
 
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Medical Degree (M.D.), or its foreign equivalent, completion of an accredited residency program in Neurology, completion of an accredited fellowship program in Vascular Neurology, and completion of an accredited fellowship program in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology and completion of an accredited fellowship program in Neuro Endovascular Surgery and possession of a State of Wisconsin medical license.
