Job Description
The Department of Pediatrics at Advocate Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Intensivist to join our growing program in the Chicago area.

We have main campuses in Park Ridge and Oak Lawn and are part of the Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance. The ideal candidate is BC/BE in pediatric critical care and is interested in providing excellent care in a robust clinical service combined with the opportunity to participate in research, advocacy, and resident and fellow education. We have a diverse catchment area that includes Chicago and surrounding suburbs, as well as parts of Wisconsin and Indiana. The successful candidate will have opportunities at both campuses and a smaller community hospital, with Park Ridge as the primary site.
 
Clinical responsibilities include:
  • Providing 24/7 in-patient care, including ECMO, CRRT, continuous EEG, and advanced respiratory support for over 2500 admissions per year
  • Running sedation services at both campuses
  • Supporting a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties
  • Participating in education and training of PICU fellows
  • Supervising Advanced Practice Providers
  • Serving as medical control for the Advocate Children’s Transfer Center. 
Our faculty consists of 22 fellowship-trained intensivists and a complement of nurse practitioners and PICU hospitalists who practice at a 19 bed PICU in Park Ridge, a 24 bed PICU in Oak Lawn, and a smaller community-based ICU in Naperville. We are supported by our nationally ranked Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The combined faculty has diverse and nationally recognized expertise in research, ethics, palliative care, sedation, simulation, medical education, quality improvement, and advocacy. The two campuses comprise Advocate Children’s Hospital, the largest network of pediatric service providers in Illinois with 138 beds at ACH PR, the primary site of practice, and 145 beds at ACH OL. Both campuses support ACGME-accredited medical education programs for fellows, residents, and students.
