Job Title: Abdominal Transplant Surgeon

Duties: The Abdominal Transplant Surgeon at Aurora Medical Group, Inc. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will specialize in abdominal transplantation and will be responsible for performing the preoperative and operative care and clinical management of patients undergoing kidney, liver or pancreas transplantation surgery.  In close coordination with other appropriate medical specialists, perform transplant surgery and provide outpatient and inpatient rounding and management, and donor recovery and management.  Verify the necessity of medical treatment and intervention; estimate surgical risks to patients; and overall determine the best course(s) of care to effectively manage the transplantation; determine, prescribe and administer preoperative and postoperative surgery; order and study medical diagnostic tests to aid in diagnosis and care management as necessary; and recommend, facilitate and coordinate appropriate post-operative care with other providers as indicated by patient condition.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a minimum of Medical Degree (M.D.), or its foreign equivalent, plus completion of a fellowship program in clinical transplant surgery; completion of a residency program in General Surgery, and possession of a State of Wisconsin medical license.
