We are seeking a dynamic acute general surgeon to join our team and provide coverage at our beautiful Aurora Medical Center - Manitowoc County and our recently built hospital, Bay Area Medical Center, in Marinette.  
 
Training and/or experience required:
  • Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program
  • Broad skills in all areas of general surgery
  • Compassionate and patient centered with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player
Program Overview:
  • Both Aurora Medical Centers are Level IV trauma centers; Manitowoc County is a 69 bed hospital overlooking Lake Michigan and our Bay Area Medical Center  is a recently built 55-bed modern facility set on 91 acres of wooded surroundings 
  • Patients come first with a calming environment at each location patient rooms have views of the surrounding gardens, wooded land or lake
  • New acute surgery program will cover two locations- Aurora Medical Center - Manitowoc County and Bay Area Medical Center - Marinette
  • Responsibilities include 12 24-hour shifts / month with some flexibility; can determine own schedule with max of no more than 7 days in a row
  • Will also be responsible for rounds, new inpatient and urgent outpatient consults, urgent/emergent surgeries and may scrub with other surgeon on elective cases when at that location and time allows; weekday clinic availability for patient follow-ups
  • No critical care physicians on site so you will also be responsible to assist in occasional inpatient procedures
